THE LIP LIFT PROCEDURE

RECOVERY & RESULTS

You’ll be given detailed aftercare instructions to ensure a smooth recovery, including how to care for your incision and manage any discomfort. You may need to adjust your diet and activities for the first few days to avoid putting strain on the incision area.
Most of the initial swelling and bruising will subside within the first week, and you can typically return to work and light activities. The incision will begin to heal, and you’ll start to see the new shape of your lips.
After 2-3 weeks, any remaining swelling will continue to decrease, and the final results will become more apparent. The incision should be healing well, and you can gradually resume your normal routine.
After 6-8 weeks, your lips will have fully healed, with the final shape and position settled. The scar will continue to fade over time.

This 53 year-old patient presented to Dr. Polacco for a revision lip lift. She had had a lift about 5 years prior, but felt that she didn’t quite get enough lift and tooth show. Using an incision camouflaged under the nose, her lip was shortened, resulting in a more youthful appearance and slight pout. Post-operative photographs were taken 4 weeks after surgery.
